Educators of the 21st century must have a depth of technical knowledge and the creativity to integrate technology within their lesson plan objectives delivered to students. It is imperative for professional developers to understand the various learning aspects of teachers and the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that result from adopting new technologies. As professional developers, how do we overcome some of the obstacles with creating a successful Educational Technology Professional Development(ETPD) plan? It all starts with having a clear understanding of the various theories and models used to develop an effective ETPD and how to assess the resulting teacher change for the overall positive student learning outcome.
